Getting started with AnroAgents
From signing up to a live agent on your website, step by step.
Getting an AnroAgents agent live takes about fifteen minutes and does not require a developer. The path is: create an account, fill in the agent form, save, copy the embed snippet onto your site. Everything else — the knowledge base, integrations, qualification — can be added later without taking the agent down.
Step 1 — Create an AnroAgents account
Sign up at https://app.anroagents.com. You can register with an email and password or with a Google account. There is nothing to install and no credit card is required to start: the Free plan works immediately.
Step 2 — Create the agent
In the AnroAgents dashboard, press "Create Agent" on the Dashboard screen. The agent form walks through eight steps: Basics, Services, Contacts, Communication, Advanced, Integrations, Knowledge Base, and Review & Submit. A setup checklist on the right shows what is still required and what is merely recommended.
The only things you truly need to get started in AnroAgents are the business name, a description of what your business does, and at least one service or product. Everything else improves the agent's answers but does not block it from going live.
Step 3 — Save the agent
Pressing Save in AnroAgents stores the agent as a draft — and a draft is already working. Your chat widget will answer visitors as soon as it is on your site; the draft state only affects the public AGNTCY directory, not your own website.
Submitting the agent for review in AnroAgents is a separate, optional action. Review is required only for listing the agent in the public AGNTCY directory, where other AI agents can discover it. Our team checks the first version; after it is approved, later edits go live immediately without a new review.
Step 4 — Put the agent on your website
Open the agent, go to the Embed Code section, and copy the snippet. It is a single script tag that looks like this:
<script src="https://widget.anroagents.com/widget.js" data-agent-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID" data-api-key="YOUR_API_KEY" async></script>
Paste that snippet before the closing </body> tag of your site, on every page where the chat should appear. On WordPress, install the AnroAgents plugin instead and paste the two values into its settings. On Shopify, install the AnroAgents app and the widget is added for you.
If you have no website, skip the snippet entirely: every AnroAgents agent also has a hosted chat page with its own shareable link and QR code, found under "Share Link" on the agent screen.
Step 5 — Test it before your visitors do
Every AnroAgents agent has a Test Chat on its detail screen. Talk to it the way an awkward customer would: ask about a price you never entered, ask for something you do not sell, ask in another language. What it does not know, it should decline to answer rather than invent.
What to do next in AnroAgents
Upload your price list, catalogue or brochures into the agent's Knowledge Base so answers are grounded in real documents rather than a short description. Connect Google Calendar so the agent can book meetings instead of promising that someone will be in touch. Turn on lead qualification so you can tell the serious enquiries from the browsers. Each of those is a separate step and none of them requires taking the agent offline.
